Time…..keeps ticking away

It is now over 6 months since I moved in. I have continued to be amazed by the Central Coast area as a whole. It is so beautiful. I am discovering new things all the time, and most of them are right by my doorstep.

I bought a bike online. A very cute vintage bike. Apart from the fact that the front wheel initially had a problem, it is great. I must mention the Killarney Vale Bike Shop here. I felt really bad that I went for the cheaper online purchase rather than using the local bike shop. I was hesitant walking in there with my faulty wheel to ask for help. However even though I didn’t buy the bike from there, they were so helpful, the loveliest people, a family business, and they managed to get my bike up and running. Thank you!

My first bike ride was with my friends daughter Elise. She has been staying with me, helping work on the house and just hanging out for a while. University just didn’t work out for her and she needs some time to get clarity and figure out her new direction. What better place than here. I hope she enjoys staying with me as much as I enjoy having her. She said the sweetest thing to me the other day. She said “your life is just like a movie!” These simple words really took me by surprise. To think that someone can see my life in that way. It has made me appreciate things even more than I already do. Thank you Elise x

Before we went riding we mowed the lawn. We had a practise run in the backyard. I was laughing calling my backyard Centennial Park….it is rather spacious!

Our bike ride was amazing. So much fun. Look at this bridge we discovered! It is on the bike track that runs beside Tuggerah Lake. The bridge connects Killarney Vale with Long Jetty. Elise called it the bridge to “Terabithia”. We were taking photos of it when a tiny little girl came peddling along as fast as she could to try to make it up the bridge. We watched as her dad waited for her then quickly gave her a push to get her to the top. A special moment witnessed indeed.

Another special moment I have recently had the pleasure to witness happened on my way home from work the other day. I had just exited the freeway and was making my way through the back streets of Ourimbah when I was stopped in a line of traffic. This is a normal suburban street but what I witnessed was not normal. I wondered why we were stopped an it wasn’t until the cars started to move forward that I could see a family of peacocks were strutting proudly across the road and had stopped the traffic in both directions! There would have been about 7 of them. I tried to take a photo (but I was driving at the time) so this was the best I could do. Still, I will never forget that unusual scene. I felt so lucky.

The clock you see in this post is a brand new second hand purchase. Another place of interest introduced to me by my mother a while ago is the bid jungle at Tuggerah. I hadn’t been there before and Sophie and I went there the other day. It is a tender centre where you can bid for an item in a silent auction situation. It has some very interesting things. I won this clock and two bird cages. The bird cages will hang in my tree with the other one I have. They are empty of course. Just for direction and to put lights in. A good bird cage is an empty bird cage. Birds are suppose to be free.

This post is full of adventure and I have not mentioned the renovation at all! That’s OK. I have lots to say about that and will do another post shortly after I have cleaned up and taken some photos of where I’m up to now. To end this post I am going to add some photos of places I’ve seen over the last few months which I haven’t already mentioned in my blog.

Enjoy!

This is The Entrance….the actual entrance where the ocean meets the lake.

Have you ever seen a sea of blue bottles like this???? Incredible. The entire sandy beach was covered in a sea of blue. It looked stunning.

Hmmm….there must be some Kiwis living near by!
